An improved and more contemporary version of the outstanding Suzuki Swift which won 63 Car of the Year titles and awards around the world, is being launched in Queensland with a new engine, body styling enhancements, more room, more features, the choice of more models and covering even more kilometres on each litre of petrol.

The 2011 Swift is a sophisticated evolution of the model which made its Australian debut at the Brisbane Motor Show in February 2005, rather than being a radical revolution.

New exterior design

Holden’s managing director, Mike Devereux, has announced that he expects to resume the second production shift at the brand’s Adelaide plant in the coming months, including production of an Australian-built Holden Cruze.

“Given that the Cruze is the number five-selling car already in Australia – we sold over 2,500 units just last month – we’re going to be building tens and tens of thousands of these cars so yeah we’ll need a second shift.”

Nissan X-Trail ST-L Xtronic CVT Westpoint Autos have continued to deliver the goods, this month providing Saia and myself with a Nissan X-Trail 4WD. This opportunity presents me with yet another chance to elaborate on what I like to call the Faingaa Fundamentals. 

Holden VE SV6 Ute

The fundamentals for this beast are simple; it is an automatic, petrol utility truck with a V6 engine.  The exterior of the car is very modern and clean, leaving a smooth silhouette, initiating a good first impression. From our driving experiences to and from training and the likes, I found that the car is very relaxed to drive, hardly feeling the bumps and imperfections of the roads. The car copes well with a city lifestyle with all the stops and starts of intersections and traffic lights.
