The first-ever Tucson N Line has landed: bringing serious performance styling to the Tucson’s futuristic design. Available across the Tucson range, the N Line Option Pack includes head-turning details like exclusive 19” N Line alloys, a suede and leather[P5] appointed interior and an impressive 10.25” digital supervision cluster. This is one to watch out for.
The medium SUV claimed top honours from a formidable field of 19 candidates in Australia’s biggest new-vehicle sales segment... we assessed more than 100 criteria across five key areas including safety, technology, comfort and convenience, driving performance and ownership costs.
The Tucson stands out from the crowd right from the start due to two interconnected factors, only one of which is immediately obvious. The first is its radical radiator grille, which features a parametric series of light-catching air intakes. The second is the set of LED DRLs across the range which, on the Highlander variant, are concealed within the outer edges of the grille and glow to reveal themselves once the engine starts.
A leap forward in automotive interior design, the open-style 10.25” display panel is fitted in the Highlander variant and included as part of the N Line Option Pack, it features digitised performance gauges and infographics, a unique graphics scheme for each drive mode, and a choice of layout themes. To elevate safety even further, the cluster also incorporates the video feed for the Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM).
The 10.25” multimedia display puts at your fingertips all the apps, entertainment and content you love accessing on your smartphone. There’s also a built-in sat nav system plus a suite of the latest vehicle-tech innovations: including Multi-Bluetooth™ connectivity, user profiles that can be created and personalised to suit each driver, and the Sounds of Nature ambient audio library.
You can automatically open the tailgate door, hands-free and foot-free, simply by standing behind the boot for 3 seconds with your smart key. And you can also customise it to open to one of three lift heights so you never have to get up on your toes to reach it, which will also help ensure it doesn’t make contact with a low carpark ceiling.
Gear shifting is controlled not with a traditional gearstick but by touching the sleek, push-button electronic touchpad that’s integrated into the centre console to maximise ease and space. And when the engine is turned off, it automatically shifts into the P-gear if the driver has forgotten to.
The Tucson’s unique form was created to push the design boundaries of the medium SUV category, and nowhere is this more evident than along its chiselled side profile. Innovative and futuristic, it features a distinctive Z-shaped character line that extends across both doors, catching the light and creating the impression of kinetic forward motion.
Airflow is felt even more gently on the skin with the Tucson’s advanced ventilation system. Pressing the ‘Diffuse’ button activates Multi-Air mode, diffusing additional, soft streams of cold or warm air from multiple extra vents around the cabin.
Elevate the vibe being created by your music by bathing your interior in one of 64 mood-enhancing colours, projected from multiple LED cables embedded in and around your cabin interior.
The FCA system is designed to reduce the risk of collision by detecting and monitoring oncoming vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. And when the driver activates the indicators to turn right at a junction, the JT system recognises any oncoming obstacles ahead using its front view camera and front radar. If there’s a risk of a frontal collision, JT warns the driver of the danger ahead and, if necessary, applies emergency braking to avoid an impact.
The distinctive physical form of the Tucson is a stunning expression of the Hyundai design philosophy. Crisp geometric angles, creases and edges provide a striking contrast with its sleek silhouette and powerful wedge lines. This stands out as the next generation of SUV, created specifically for future-forward drivers who fully embrace the merging of lifestyle and technology.
Uniquely designed to highlight the Tucson’s length, luxuriousness and sporty nature, the eye-catching, chrome-coated DLO moulding flows along the entire top edge of the windows (or Day Light Openings), from the front corner of the side-view mirrors all the way to the tailgate windscreen.
Triangular-shaped lighting elements - concealed within both the taillamps and the edge-to-edge striplight that connects them - emphasise the Tucson’s wide, high-tech rear design while also harmonising well with the lighting design embedded in the parametric radiator grille at the front.
The Tucson’s unique geometric patterning concludes with a final flourish on the rear bumper, where a finely detailed parametric diamond moulding above the skid plate diffuser leaves a sporty and dynamic final impression.
You’ll notice the minimalistic design on every surface of the all-new Tucson’s exterior including the rear wiper, which has been cleverly tucked under the wide roof spoiler that frames the back windscreen.
Like an artwork with the originator’s signature, the bold design elements that characterise the all-new Tucson’s rear section are punctuated by our logo, which appears as a subtle, three-dimensional flourish applied to the base of the rear windshield.
